Guide Review - 'Angel Wars Guardian Force 2'
Good vs. evil isn't a new concept for children's entertainment. Think as far back as The Wizard Of Oz, with the obvious examples of who was good and who wasn't to the more subtle Loony Tunes - the Road Runner was good, the Coyote was bad and always got what was coming to him. However, good vs. evil in a spiritual sense, used to educate kids while entertaining them with plenty of action and adventure instead of trying to scare them to Jesus, well, that's a different story. Until Angel Wars Guardian Force at least.Angel Wars Guardian Force 2 picks up where the first installment in the series left off with the angel heroes fighting to save the earth from Morg, the fallen angel.
While the series may appeal more to "tween" boys than girls, my own 10 year old girl loved it. (Of course, she has three older brothers, so she's used to lots of action and adventure). Amazingly, my own 16 year old son joined us to watch it and stayed through the entire movie! He said that it was more anime than cartoon, therefore acceptable. As a mom, I was impressed by the way angels and demons were presented. The demons weren't used in a "monster under the bed" way to scare kids toward Jesus, but they weren't played down either.
I think my daughter put it best when she said, "WOW Mom, God really did make some tough guys to fight for us didn't He? It's a good thing He loves us so much!" As they say ... from the mouths of babes.
